ALE. Army Light Aviation, AVES Army Aviation or Air Cavalry.

The Army Aviation is made up of departments that use aircraft

for the satisfaction of the most immediate and minute needs of the Army, by means of transport and reconnaissance helicopters

and attack aircraft as well as fixed-wing aircraft with which shooting observation, reconnaissance,

exploration, connection and combat.

It therefore carries out support activities for the ground forces; therefore it does not carry out air supremacy operations

as a peculiar activity of the Air Force.

Army Aviation is entirely entrusted to Army personnel. This feature allows for a more intimate connection

between the troops operating on the ground and those in the sky, who are perfectly aware of the systems and purposes that

the former promise themselves. The operational pace and the accentuated demands for command, connection and maneuvering in large spaces

therefore they find in the AVES an instrument of very high performance.
