Description
Commonly called "the Ninth", the "Col Moschin" assault regiment is one of the army's raiding units based in Livorno. Like the other special forces departments of the armed forces, it functionally depends on the Cofs (the Joint Force Command for Special Forces Operations) established on 1 December 2004 with headquarters at the Rome-Centocelle airport. The Ninth Col Moschin provides personnel and equipment for the special missions established by the Cofs which, on an institutional level, is the command structure that regulates the use of the special forces of the four armed forces which are the raiders of Marina del Goi for the Navy, the Fourth Alpine Paratrooper Regiment "Monte Cervino" and the 185th Parachute Regiment for reconnaissance acquisition of "Folgore" objectives, in addition to the Ninth, for the Army, the 17th raiding flock for the Air Force and the GIS (Special Intervention Group) of the Carabinieri
