The M33, short for the full caption Model 1933, was the standard helmet of the Royal Army and
of the Italian Army from the mid-thirties to the early nineties, born from the redesign of the M31.
It was also distributed to the Regia Marina and the Navy.
Immediately simple result, compact and effective in protection, it remained with the Italian army
until the early nineties, then replaced by kevlar helmets.
Probably the quantities of M33 helmets left at the disposal of the new army after the war must have been really huge
if we opted for continuity in its use
